SOAK has a rich history, which we are only slowly getting around to document. Over time, we will fill in this space with more details, photos and reminiscences.

SOAK*2005
The very first SOAK, back in the olden days when the event had no theme (much like World War I wasn’t called World War I until there was a World War II). The event was held at Tidewater Falls, in Tidewater, Oregon. The effigy was “Onion Man”.

SOAK*2006 Again, no theme. The event was at Miller Brothers Ranch in Salem, Oregon.

SOAK*2007
This was the first SOAK conducted under the auspices of the newly formed SOAK LLC. The event was held at Miller Brothers Ranch in Salem, Oregon. The effigy was “Tree Man”.

SOAK*2008
This was the first year of the Miss Soak Pageant! The event was held at Miller Brothers Ranch in Salem, Oregon. The effigy was “Cart Man”.

SOAK*2014: Decadent Decathlon
The event was held at Tidewater Falls, in Tidewater Oregon. The effigy was “Decadent Delight”, designed by Dusty Visions. This was the tenth SOAK, hence “decathlon”, geddit?

SOAK*2015: Level Up!
This was the first year at the Justesen Ranch, in Tygh Valley, Oregon. The effigy was “Transitional Elements aka The Phoenix” designed by Sepia, Jinx and KosherBacon.

SOAK*2016: SCIENCE!
Again at the Justesen Ranch. The Major Burnable Structure was “The Mothership”, designed by Space Cadet, Kosher Bacon, and Jinx. This was also the premiere of the new “flamedrop” SOAK logo.

SOAK*2017: Superstition
This was the 13th SOAK, hence the theme. Clever, aren’t we? Once again, the event is being held at the Justesen Ranch. The Major Burnable Structure is “Welcome Gnome!”, designed by Kosher Bacon and Jinx.

SOAK*2018: Parallel Multiverse
Two years after SOAK embraced Science, one year after it was swept by Superstition, we turned to a theme that transcended all such limits. It brought us aquatic Americans governed by President Fishy Sanders; a world just like ours but lacking the color green; ethical conundrums about predestination; and a need to explore.
