Ticket Transfer Information
SOAK*2024

There are three ways to transfer SOAK tickets, outlined below. Tickets should never be sold for over face value ($205/ticket, $95/RV pass, $5/parking pass). Transfers using options two and three incur transfer fees, and it is acceptable to pass on the cost in fees incurred by using the exchange service if you wish.

Option 1: Transferring to a friend

This option is for those who are wanting to transfer their ticket to a friend or someone you trust. By using this option the person you are transferring to will not be able to transfer the ticket again themselves. It is the least secure way of buying/selling tickets.

  • Transfers can be made by editing the name on the ticket by using the “Edit Order” button in the order confirmation email you received.

Remember, the person you transferred the ticket to WILL NOT be able to edit/transfer the ticket themselves. As the original owner, only you have control, and can edit for for them again if you wish to do so. There is no cost associated with this function, but any transfer of funds is done privately between the two parties. SOAK is not responsible for mistaken/incorrect/lost ticket transfers. To fully ensure you own your ticket when receiving it, use option 2 or 3.

We've been getting a lot a inquiries about ticket transfers, specifically where they change the names and the new people are not getting the tickets. This is how it's done.
From HUMANITIX confirmation email:
Manage order > Update Order
Change name + email
Click Update
On the right click "Email Tickets to Attendees" and select the tickets you are transferring.
The new person on the ticket WILL NOT be able to alter any further. To give the new owners full freedom to transfer you would have to go through Tixel.

Option 2: Selling or Gifting to a Private Buyer

This option is for those who know who they want to sell their ticket to and wish to use an escrow service for the protection of each party. This could be someone you met through an online ticket exchange, for example. This is the most secure way of finding a buyer/seller and conducting an exchange.

Keep in mind that there are fees associated with this to the buyer and possibly to the seller. You can use the 5% markup to recoup the Humanitix fees, or choose not to mark up at all. Tixel provides an escrow service, so payments are protected for both buyer/seller.

Option 3: Selling or Gifting to Anybody/Somebody

This option is for those who know who just want to sell their ticket and be done with it. This is the most secure way of finding a buyer/seller and conducting an exchange.

Keep in mind that there are fees associated with this to the buyer and possibly to the seller. You can use the 5% markup to recoup the Humanitix fees, or choose not to mark up at all. Tixel provides an escrow service so payments are protected for both buyer/seller.
